On Balance: Panel Discussion with Artists & Scientists

Quentin Cooper (presenter of BBC Radio 4’s weekly The Material World, the UK’s most listened to science programme) will chair this special event taking place on the roof terrace in proximity to Richard Wilson’s Hang On A Minute Lads, I’ve Got A Great Idea…
This lively chat-show style debate will consider the physiology of balance and poise, including discussion of the aesthetic qualities of sport/ dance (grace and presence) before moving on to consider neurological skill development in athletes. It will feature a dance performance by Subathra Subramaniam, contributions from neuro-scientist Morten Kringelbach, Rambert’s scientist-in-residence Nicky Clayton, as well as dance-scientist Elsa Bradley and Everything Flows artists susan pui san lok and Dryden Goodwin. The discussion will be followed by an opportunity to meet the speakers.
